About Tiffany McCauley
Welcome to my cookie business blog. I’m glad you’re here! Make sure to bookmark this site and subscribe to my updates so you can stay in the loop!

My name is Tiffany and I publish and manage the National Cookie Network, a daily source for fun and delicious recipes; I’m also the publisher and editor of The Gracious Pantry, a popular clean eating blog that is updated daily with articles, tips and recipes about healthy food.

Sweet Beginnings

I’m the founder of Ohma’s Cookies, a custom bakery that specializes in unique German flavors. Our family cookie business and blend of sweet ingredients have a long flavorful history that goes back three generations and spans more than 100 years across two continents.

I got my first taste of the cookie-making business nearly three decades ago as a helper in my grandmother’s kitchen. She always said beside every great baker was a great helper.

My responsibilities included gathering ingredients, washing dishes and assisting with plates and utensils. It didn’t take long for the sweet, warm aroma to fill the house and overflow our platters (and bellies!) with moist German cookies perfect for nibbling on.

I was “promoted” from helper to baker by the time I was in high school and had the opportunity to work alongside my mom and grandma. Sadly, my grandma – Ohma in German – passed away in 1990, but my mom and I carried her traditions and recipes on.

I spent several years after high school working in Germany, where I had the opportunity to learn more about baking and received intense hands-on instruction.

Appetite for Sharing

Shortly after the birth of my son in 2007, I launched The National Cookie Network to provide recipes, tips and resources for amateur and professional bakers. Within a year, the website exploded!

Like many of my loyal readers, I needed – and wanted – a career I enjoyed that would allow me to be a financial contributor and a full-time mom. Today, my goal is to share my tips and provide support to others that have the same dream.

Sadly, family obligations forced my to close my successful cookie business only a year after I started it. But I expanded the website and launched a complete publishing outfit that includes social media, consulting and guidebooks related to starting and managing fun and successful cookie businesses.

I published my first book, The Sweeter Side of Life, a popular guidebook to starting, managing and growing a fun, successful and profitable cookie business from scratch in 2009.

Most recently, I published Blogging for the Cookie Business, 50 Ways to Market Your Cookie Business on a Shoestring Budget and Cookie Business Cards available online at the National Cookie Network.

Connect and Share Your Story

A lot has changed since I first started baking cookies (I specialize in custom orders around my publishing deadlines). The gentle breeze still blows through the window over the sink and carries the rich aromas of our German heritage throughout the house.

And of course, I have my energetic, three-year old assistant – and future baker? – to share the traditions with.

I would love to hear about your traditions and greatest cookie moment – how did you discover your love for cookies? Drop me an email at info [at] nationalcookienetwork.com and share your story (photos welcome too!). I promise to respond!
